The general aim of this interdisciplinary conference is to explore new trends in literature, translation studies and linguistics. Scholars in the fields of literature, translation and language are invited to explore cutting-edge research in their respective fields.
Submission Guidelines
All papers must be original and not simultaneously submitted to another journal or conference. The following paper categories are welcome:
- Abstract Submissions: Abstracts should include the following:

All presenters are invited to submit papers based on their accepted abstracts related to the conference topics listed above. Presentations are for 20 minutes maximum, but the paper to be published in the conference proceedings can be between 5000-7000 words.

Invited Speakers
Dr. Basil Hatim is a Theorist and practitioner in Text Linguistics, Translation/Interpreting, and TESOL. He Lectured extensively at universities throughout the world, and published widely with reputable publishers and in prestigious journals.
He authored or co-authored several books including Discourse and the translator (with Ian Mason, for Longman), Translation: An Advanced Resource Book (with Jeremy Munday, for Routledge), and the latest Academic Writing Step by Step: A Research-based Approach (with Chris Candlin and Peter Crompton, for Equinox), as well as the single-authored Teaching & Researching Translation (Longman) and Arabic Rhetoric: The Pragmatics of Deviation from Linguistic Norms (Lincom).
After nearly 20 years as Professor of translation & Linguistics at Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh, Dr Hatim has since 1999 been Professor of Translation & Interpreting at the American University of Sharjah, UAE.
Dr. Fady Joudeh has published four collections of poems, The Earth in the Attic, Alight, a book-long sequence of short poems composed on a cell phone, Textu, whose meter is cellphone character count; and, most recently, Footnotes in the Order of Disappearance. He has translated several collections of poetry from the Arabic for Mahmoud Darwish, Ghassan Zaqtan, and Amjad Nasser.
He was a winner of the Yale Series of Younger Poets competition in 2007 and has received a PEN Translation Award, a Banipal/Times Literary Supplement Prize from the UK, the Griffin Poetry Prize, and a Guggenheim Fellowship. He lives in Houston, with his wife and kids, where he practices internal medicine.
