The CentralCHRIE Federation is excited to announce that the 2023 CentralCHRIE Conference will be jointly held with the Spirit of Hospitality Summit at Purdue University on October 19th and 20th, 2023.
Participants are invited to submit abstracts for the following three tracks.
- Track 1: Teaching
- Track 2: Research
- For track 1 and 2, submissions must be based on original ideas that have not been published. They can be either completed studies or works-in-progress. Topics include but not limited to: best teaching practices, best industry practices, current industry issues, and hospitality and tourism related research topics.
- Track 3: Translational Research
- The aim of the translational research track is to present the best works of CentralCHRIE members to industry attendees and to provide a starting point for further discussion. Submissions can be based on studies that have been previously published or presented, but the content must be revised for an industry audience and cannot be identical to the previous work.
Important Dates
- June 15, 2023 – EasyChair online submission opens
- August 7, 2023 – All submission closes at 11:59 p.m. EDT.
- September 18, 2023 – Notification to authors of accepted proposals
Submission Guidelines
- Authors’ title, names, and affiliation must be on a separate Title Page. Author names and affiliations MUST NOT be included in any part of the Abstract.
- Track 1 & 2 submissions must be original and should not be published or under review for publication elsewhere.
- Submissions must be saved in a PDF document and uploaded to the EasyChair system.
- Once the submission is accepted, at least one author must register and present at the conference.
- Authors will retain full copyright to their work.
- Best Poster Awards will be selected by the Conference Poster Review Committee for each track based on outstanding merits.
- Best Poster winners of each track will be invited to deliver a stand-up presentation (track 1 & 2) or roundtable discussion (track 3) at the Spirit of Hospitality Summit.

Abstract:
- Word counts: 1,500 words max in English, including tables/figures, but excluding references.
- Margins should be 1-inch on all sides.
- Font: Times Roman, 12 pt.
- All text will be double spaced.
- Tables, figures, and references must not exceed two (2) pages in total.
- Citations and the reference list should follow the APA style.
Accepted Poster:
- The poster should be printed as 3’(tall) x 4’(wide).
- Research posters should include the following sections: Study Objectives and Justification, Theoretical Background/Hypotheses, Methodology (including sample, key variables, statistical procedures), Analysis results or Expected Findings, Unique Contribution, and Key References.
- Teaching/industry practice posters could adjust the section titles based on the nature of the topic.
