Meeting the New Demands of Second Language Education: Research Innovations in Professional Development, Technology, and Literacy
The biennial ALLT conference brings together researchers and practitioners all over the world to share their latest research findings and applications to the field of applied linguistics and language teaching. Through exploring and exchanging ideas among contributors, this conference aims to present research state of the art in updated theories, advanced analysis, and teaching insights that connect the empirical research to the practical. This conference also proposes to inform frontline teachers of cutting-edge approaches as well as the fundamentals of language acquisition in the classroom so as to provide proper and timely scaffolds to equip learners with language and literacy competencies, and more important, learning abilities required for the future. For 2018 ALLT, topics may include, but are not limited to, the following:

Submission Guidelines
*All papers must be original and not simultaneously submitted to another journal or conference.
*The conference invites abstracts of no more than 300 words in English for double-blind peer review.
*Abstract submission deadline: Dec. 1st, 2017 Extended to Jan. 10, 2018
*Noticifation of acceptance: Jan. 15, 2018 Jan.31, 2018
*We will publish proceedings after the conference, so please just upload your abstract .
Types of presentations:
Please remember to choose your type of presentation (on the system) before submission, or we will classify your abstract as "individual paper" OR "poster"!
1. Individual Papers: Papers are formal presentations on original and complete research within a 30-minute period, including 5 to 10 minutes for discussion.
2. Panel Discussion: A panel is formed by 3 or 4 scholars centering their discussion on a particular topic within 90 minutes. The panel organizer should submit an abstract delineating the theme of the panel, including each panelist’s statement explaining his/her standpoints.
3. Workshops: Workshops give opportunities for demonstrations of teaching or use of materials in a 45-minute timeframe. The audience is expected to be actively involved. The abstract should include the purpose of the demonstration and the tasks to be performed.
4. Posters: Posters are especially effective for information that can be presented visually (e.g., charts, graphs, tables, diagrams). During the hour-long (60 minutes) poster presentation period, the presenters will be available to answer any questions about their projects.
