The 1st Frontiers of Research in Caribbean Science and Technology is the first in a series of collaborative science and technology conferences in the region. The theme for this initial conference is “Science and Technology: A D.R.I.V.E.R of transformation”. This conference is a collaborative effort between three existing conferences:
- The 12th Faculty of Science and Technology Conference of the UWI, Mona
- The 6th UTECH International Science Conference
- The 2nd International Caribbean Climate Conference
The conference will take place June 9-12, 2020 and will be jointly held on the campuses of The University of Technology, Jamaica and The University of the West Indies, Mona.
Submission Guidelines
Authors are invited to submit structured abstracts related to the conference topics. Submitted abstracts should be a maximum of 300 words. Abstracts will be peer reviewed and included in the conference proceedings, if accepted. All abstracts must be original and not simultaneously submitted to another journal or conference. The following categories are welcome:
- Oral presentation - completed research or philosophical papers presenting an argument for consideration.
- Posters - current projects which are either at the proposal stage or are work in progress
In case you have never worked with the EasyChair system before, and therefore do not have an EasyChair account please create one by clicking "create an account" link at the login form. Follow the simple instructions for creating your account, then log in to the EasyChair. You will be offered the option to enter the FORECAST 2020 submission page as an author. At the New Submission page, please fill in the forms as requested by the instructions:
- Fill in the information about all the authors of your submission, at least one author should be indicated as a "corresponding author" by checking the box in the bottom of the corresponding form. If your paper has more than three authors, you may add them by clicking "Click here to add more authors" link below the author forms.
- Fill in the Title and Abstract form for your submission.
- Enter the list of the keywords that you have chosen yourself for your contribution. Each keyword should be entered in a separate line.
Abstract Format
The structured abstract should have the following sections: Title, Purpose, Methods, Results, Discussion, Conclusions and Keywords. The format of an acceptable abstract is given below.
- Title
- Purpose: This section will state the reason for undertaking the research.
- Methods: A statement of how the work was undertaken, what approach was followed, and the scope of the study.
- Results: Report the findings of the research.
- Discussion: An explanation of the findings of the research.
- Conclusions: A summary of the key findings and implications of the study.
- Keywords: A maximum of five words that accurately convey the content of your article.
Venue
The conference will be held jointly at the University of the West Indies (Mona) and the University of Technology in Kingston, Jamaica.
