Submission deadline | June 30, 2019 |
This small workshop aims to explore Plato's method of collection and division in his later dialogues.
Submission Guidelines
We would like to have papers that discuss Plato's method of collection and division directly or some relevant topics such as its relation to Plato's other method(s) for definitions and later receptions of the method in ancient philosophy, especially Aristotle's. Proposals from graduate students, early career or established scholars are all welcome.
- Since the space is limited, only two or three proposals can be accepted.
- We start at 9.30am on Thursday 12th and end at 3pm on Friday 13th.
- Each speaker has 75 minutes (roughly 45 minutes for presentation and 30 minutes for discussion).
- Presentation and discussion will be only in English.
- Please submit an abstract of up to 500 words through EasyChair by Sunday 30th June 2019.
- Abstracts should be prepared for anonymous review and in PDF format.
- The decision will be communicated to all submitters shortly after the deadline.
- We will provide the selected speakers with accommodation for the two nights of Wednesday 11th and Thursday 12th September and the meals during the workshop, but not with their travel expenses. So they will need to finance and arrange their own travels.
